NJ Security Officer Licences are issued by the New Jersey State Police (NJSP). All applicants register with the NJPS by creating an account at njsp.org.

For New Jersey the 3-step process is:
Register with the New Jersey State Police ($75) --> Link
Take a 24 hour course with a licensed instructor ($159 at AllBoro) --> Link
Have your fingerprints taken for background check ($67.38) --> Link

Registering with the State Police will generate your Universal Fingerprint Form.

Yes, you must pass a test to become licensed. All topics on the test are covered in the course. While tuition and fees are non-refundable, if you don't achieve a passing grade we will provide a review and re-test for you at no additional cost.
